The School of Politics and International Studies at the University of Leeds is hosting a one day conference focusing on Britain’s role in contemporary development aid.

The conference aims to bring together academics and practioners to discuss the myriad of issues surrounding aid donation, the challenges faced by DFID and the political and social repercussions of this policy area, particularly in this period of political upheaval in the UK in light of the BREXIT vote and forthcoming negotiations.

The conference will focus on the broad field of UK aid and invites papers on all aspects of this field, particularly political parties and aid, issues surrounding communication and the media reaction to aid donation, civil society and aid and aid as a foreign policy tool.
